Dr. Eric Lonseth is a pain management specialist with a national reputation for excellence in the field of interventional pain management. With fellowship training and double board certification in both anesthesiology and pain management, Dr. Lonseth specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of spinal disorders. He earned both his medical degree as well as Masters degree in public health from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship with the prestigious University of California, San Francisco, where he served as chief fellow. Pursuing his interest in public health, Dr. Lonseth participated in several medical missions to the Amazon region of Brazil to help indigenous people who lack access to adequate healthcare.
Dr. Lonseth served as director of East Jefferson General Hospital’s pain management clinic, which he helped found, and served as division chief of pain medicine at EJGH to serve the unmet needs of pain patients. He has since applied a decade of knowledge and experience to create a state-of-the-art pain management program. Dr. Lonseth uses a multidisciplinary approach in the evaluation and treatment of chronic pain and has successfully developed Lonseth Pain MD into an effective center that treats some of the most difficult pain-related cases in the New Orleans and Metairie area.
Recognized as an expert in the complicated treatment of debilitating pain, Dr. Lonseth has been consulted regularly by both local and national correspondents. He holds a position as an associate professor at the LSU School of Medicine and is a credentialed provider for the MD Anderson Physicians Network.
